July 4th. Just one of the many days we in the United States should all be thankful for. We all should be thankful for this day more than most, after all we gained something that many other countries do not have. Freedom. Many of the people in our country take freedom for granted. I do not.
I think of how it must of been for our founders, running from tyranny and deciding to commit treason against their own government or king just to form a new country. How brave and scared they all must of been, but I for one am eternally grateful for their actions and decisions.
Our country has went through many changes and wars to fight over what is right, good and to make things better for all of us. We abolished slavery, equal rights for all and fought wars for our freedom and the freedoms of others. Many died and sacrificed themselves for us and we all need to remember this.
We all should be very proud of the great nation that we are. I think about when I was growing up and how things were. The country I grew up in has changed in so many ways, but I believe that many of us are like minded. We want freedom, a good way to provide for ourselves and our family. We want to be safe and be able to enjoy life. We have the freedom to speak and do so many things and are blessed to do so.
I encourage everyone to educate, study and learn more about our country, our Presidents and those who are in power and make our laws and govern. Learn about how we have evolved and improved over time as a country. Think about your country first and use your own common sense when you hear negative or bad things about our country. Investigate it. Just do not go with the flow of what you hear. Find the truth.
I hear a lot of negatives with many views all over the news and social media and the thing that they all forget is they would not be able to have or say those views without their freedom. I like to look at the positive side of things, after all look how far we have come! We live in America, the greatest country in the world.
So, my focus of this day is to celebrate our independence and enjoy the day and freedoms that we all have the luxury of enjoying. Happy Birthday America!
